Hello, I’m Jan Acorn and I am dedicated to helping you experience exceptional travel. I have had the good fortune to travel to many fabulous destinations and am excited to introduce these venues, as well as many others to you. Raising five sons, married to a busy engineer and managing a household while working in various careers, I have always looked forward to my vacation time and wanted to make the most of it.

Through years of traveling with family and friends, I discovered that I am the natural “planner” of the group. With a passion for travel, I thoroughly enjoyed every adventure, but yearned for more. I realized that our level of enjoyment was directly related to the amount of time and energy put into planning it. On the occasions that I worked with professional travel planners I found that details were often overlooked or not even anticipated, which was disappointing and frustrating. Being a firm believer that vacations are to be cherished, I decided to focus on the elements needed for a truly successful experience. Out of this process, Gateway Destinations was born!
